en an Ordinær ce te amend the Larceny Ordinance 1865.

1. This Ordinance was passed for the purpose of providing a penal ty

for the theft of electricity.

2. It would appear that this form of Larceny was not an offence in this

Colony and kence the introduction of this Legislation.

3. Section 1 of the Ordinance is formal.

Section 2 provides that the larceny of Zlectricity shall be an

offence punishable as is simple larceny under the provisions of

section 5 of the Principal Ordinance (The Larceny Ordinance 1865.)

4. The provisions of section 2 are taken from these of 45 & 46 Vict.

c. 56. #. 23.

5. In my opinion this Ordinance is one to which His Excellency the

Geveraer may properly assent in the name of His Majesty and on His

Behalf.
